Archana Jois Biography

Archana Jois was born and raised in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where she developed an early interest in dance and performance. She trained in Bharatanatyam, which gave her a foundation in classical Indian performing arts and helped develop her expression, discipline and stage presence.

Before becoming widely recognised through films, Archana was associated with television and performing arts. Her early work provided her with experience in front of the camera and helped her transition toward feature-film acting. Her background in dance also became an important part of her artistic development.

Her major breakthrough came with K.G.F: Chapter 1 in 2018. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film starred Yash as Rocky and featured Archana as Gangamma, Rocky's mother. Archana returned as Gangamma in K.G.F: Chapter 2 in 2022.
